Join us at 8:00 am on Saturday morning, July 4th for the St. Matthews Independence Day 5K, presented by Independence Bank. This race has its origins back to the 1970's (with the course unchanged) in what was then called the St. Matthews Pavement Pounder. This fun and fast timed race begins and ends at St. Matthews Baptist Church (3515 Grandview Avenue). Walkers are welcome!
Race will be limited to the first 700 registrants so don't miss out, register sooner than later. Race has sold out the past four years!

PACKET PICKUP
Pre-race Packet Pickup and late registration will be on THURSDAY, July 2nd from 11:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Independence Bank, 3901 Shelbyville Rd, Louisville, KY 40207.
Everyone who picks up their packet at the bank will have a FREE LUNCH from 11:30 a.m. until 2pm, compliments of the bank.
Late pickup will be on race day at St. Matthews Baptist Church, 3515 Grandview Ave. starting at 7:00 a.m. and ending at 7:45 a.m. SHARP!
AWARDS
Ken Combs Running Store gift certificates, a trophy, a free entree at Jaggers and a Barry Bagels gift card to the top 3 male & female overall, and Ken Combs Running Store gift certificates to the top Master and Grandmaster and top 3 male & female in the following age groups: 9 & Under, 10-14, 15 - 19, 20 - 24, 25 - 29, 30 - 34, 35 - 39, 40 - 44, 45 - 49, 50 - 54, 55 - 59, 60 - 64, 65 - 69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & over.
The Team Challenge is FREE to enter and open to any 3 to 5 registered person teams in three divisions: Male, Female, or Coed. Fastest three on each team are scored, the Coed team must score one woman. You will not only compete for team awards, but each team member is also eligible for an individual time and awards! Grab a couple of your friends and compete as a team! Winning team in each category will receive gift certificates from Ken Combs Running Store.
Kids Run added to the St. Matthews Independence Day 5k
Introducing the Little Patriot Fun Runs, sponsored by Goldfish Swim School, just for the 9 and under crowd! Distances: 6 and Under: 1776 inches (49 yards); ages 7-9 250 feet (84 yards)
Date: July 3rd Time: promptly at 4pm to open the Freedom Fest street festival (which runs 4-9pm)
